New Song: Letting Go
Written from long nights beside a friend's dying brother — and the memory of standing beside my own father's bed years before.
Added a new song: Letting Go.
This one comes from a hard place and doesn’t pretend otherwise.
In January I spent several nights sitting with a dear friend beside her dying brother. That room — the exhaustion, the helplessness — pulled me straight back to losing my own father years ago. He was my hero. That hasn’t changed.
The song isn’t about healing or silver linings. It’s about one specific moment: when there is nothing left for your hands to hold onto. When you just have to let it hurt for a while, sit with the dark cloud, and watch it pass.
Not every wound needs to be neatly resolved to live a full life. Some losses become part of the permanent landscape of who you are. That’s the honest thing the song is trying to say.
It opens with a recitation — spoken, not sung — because some things need to be said plainly before the music begins.
